Wednesday
I noticed a silver car in the left lane,
a few scratches in its side-rear,
a row of little sensors in the back saying
"use us as a guide to reverse park!"
I was in the right lane
(didn't say correct lane)
when I noticed this car
and its driver
I thought to myself
"I know this person,
in the silver car
with the little sensors in the back.....
but will he know me?"
As I surged ahead
in the traffic,
and passed this car;
I saw in my rear view
mirror
A sudden recognition
in the driver's eyes
A smile, then a wave
And as I waved back
Not furiously or madly
No, more subtly than that
Perhaps even shyly;
I thought to myself
"I love this person
but does he like me?"
a few scratches in its side-rear,
a row of little sensors in the back saying
"use us as a guide to reverse park!"
I was in the right lane
(didn't say correct lane)
when I noticed this car
and its driver
I thought to myself
"I know this person,
in the silver car
with the little sensors in the back.....
but will he know me?"
As I surged ahead
in the traffic,
and passed this car;
I saw in my rear view
mirror
A sudden recognition
in the driver's eyes
A smile, then a wave
And as I waved back
Not furiously or madly
No, more subtly than that
Perhaps even shyly;
I thought to myself
"I love this person
but does he like me?"
